Profile
Ignacio Grau is a Spanish criminal defence lawyer with extensive experience representing individuals, executives and companies in complex criminal proceedings before courts throughout Spain. His practice covers white-collar crime, corporate criminal liability, homicide, drug trafficking, sexual offences, arson, professional negligence and high-value compensation claims arising from criminal proceedings.
Education
He holds a PhD in Law (summa cum laude) from the University of Valencia, a Law Degree from the same university, completed Harvard University’s Program on Negotiation and obtained a Diploma of Advanced Studies (DEA) in Procedural Law. He has also undertaken academic studies in Paris, Florence, Phoenix, Leeds, Beijing and Shanghai, and completed a legal internship at Brown & Bain Law Firm (USA).
Academic & Professional Activity
Ignacio Grau is Professor of Procedural Law at the European University and teaches evidence in specialist postgraduate programmes. He has published several legal books and regularly contributes to specialist media, radio and television on criminal law and litigation.
Recognition
He has been recognised by Best Lawyers® in Spain and was named ‘Lawyer of the Year – Criminal Defense (Valencia)’ for 2024, 2025 and 2026.
